Gregory Park for Christ Crusade, 2010!

Posted by arkcompassionate on July 31, 2010 at 9:04 PM Comments comments (0)

The Jamaica Crusade 2010 has been an amazing example of how much God loves Jamaica and has "a plan to give hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11-13).

From July 25-30 and August 1st,  there have been nightly open air meetings.  On opening night, the Maranatha Waterhouse Drama team presented a riveting performance that traced the story of the Cross (from Genesis to Golgotha)!  Many thanks to Bro. & Sis.'s  Shanette, Richard & Noreen of Drama & Youth Ministries, Waterhouse!   Evangelist Vivien Talbot gave a moving testimony of his transformation from an imprisoned teenage criminal (the notorious "Little Thirteen") to a Christian fireball for Christ in the prison system during the 60's and 70's!  He preached for the first three nights on the grace and love of God, even while we are yet sinners.  This was followed by messages from Bishop Bobby McIntosh (of Maranatha Ministries), Evangelist Fred Mitchell and Evangelist Easton Royce (Gregory Park Church of God of Prophecy).  There have been over 33 decisions for Christ so far.  Many of these new Christians attended an Ackee, Saltfish and Festival Brunch today (Saturday) in the church annex (lovingly prepared by Sister Merna Wright).  Following are the some of the faces of Gregory Park Crusade.  Please visit our Gallery for details.  You may find your own photograph!:D

Sister Marcia Thompson (Global Kingdom Ministries Flagging ministry) & Sister Maria Dennis (Betty from Maranatha Ministries, evangelism & Vacation Bible School) were on hand evangelising, serving and helping with follow-up.

The leaders of Gregory Park Church had the opportunity to meet with Minister Paul Sharpe, Alpha Jamaica, and began some initial training as they consider implementing the Alpha program to be used as method of new Christian follow-up and an evangelism tool.  There was much discussion of how well the 10 churches across Jamaica have already launched successful alpha groups over the past 10 years in schools, homes, church facilities, even member's yards!   :lol:Thanks to all who prayed, worked & gave!  Following is a video and photos of the beautiful children of Waterhouse, an inner city neighbourhood in the heart of Kingston.  Please keep them in your prayers.  Their social needs are many.  They welcomed us with open hearts.  We sang, danced, played, examined the ways of Jesus and ate together.  Remember them as you give.....

We ended the Crusade with a delightful Ackee and Saltfish Breakfast welcoming new Christians and visitors (over 22 guests).  Thanks to Sister Merna Wright, the chef extraordinaire!

What does it mean to have faith?  How do you stay close to God even when the "five loaves and two fishes" are gone?

"The tears stream from my eyes, an artesian well of tears,

Until you, God, look down from on high,

look and see my tears.

When I see what's happened to the young women in the city,

the pain breaks my heart......Enemies with no reason to be enemies hunted me down like a bird.  They threw me into a pit then pelted me with stones.  Then the rains came and filled the pit.  The water rose over my head....I called out your name.  O, God, called from the bottom of the pit. You listened when I called out...You said, 'It's going to be all right.'"  Lamentations 3:49-57

When life is heavy and hard to take, go off by yourself.  Enter the silence.

Bow in prayer.  Don't ask questions: Wait for hope to appear.  Don't run from trouble.  Take it full-face.  The "worst" is never the worst.

Why? Because the master won't ever walk out and fail to return.

If he works severely, he also works tenderly.

His stockpiles of loyal love are immense.

He takes no pleasure in making life hard,

in throwing roadblocks in the way...

Stomping down hard on ...prisoners,

Refusing justice to victims in the court of High God,

Tampering with evidence--

the Master does not approve of such things....Lamentations 3:28-36.

God's loyal love couldn't have run out, his merciful love couldn't have run out, his merciful love couldn't have dried up.  They're created new every morning.  How great your faithfulness!  I'm sticking with God (I say it over and over).  He's all I've got left!

God proves to be good to the man who passionately waits, to the woman who diligently seeks.  It's a good thing to quietly hope....  Lamentations 3:22-25 (The Message Bible)

Maranatha Ministries International is a dynamic ministry lead by Bishop Bobby McIntosh and his wife Principal Marsha McIntosh.  They have founded an inner city church in which innovative entrepreneurship is rewarded, education for basic school children has developed, outreach to the youth using multimedia, street evangelism, drama and the arts is encouraged.  Please let us know if you would like to volunteer or to participate by supporting this ministry.
